About Jacy and Blue Dog
I’m an experienced video producer — at home behind a lens, and in the mountains.
My love of creating images started early: I got my first job (as a tree planter) at 13 so I could buy a camera, and a ski pass.
I’m also recovering from gold fever, after directing the documentary Wilds to Riches on B.C.’s Gold Rush history that aired on CBC Television in 2013. This was my second independent documentary; I edited and co-wrote The Road to Shambhala which premiered in 2009.
I have degrees in Communications and Education from Simon Fraser University, and have taught kids and adults how to tell their story using video.
I grew up in the Kootenays and currently live in Vancouver with my wife and daughter.
Blue Dog Media
Video is a powerful form of storytelling, and we can help you tell yours.
Led by Jacy Schindel, Blue Dog Media can carry your project from video design and conception — to writing and shooting — to editing, motion graphics and colour correction. We can take on projects big and small with a network of local producers.
If you’re nervous about being on camera, we have tips and coaching for that too.
